All works of art are affected by the environment. Paper, an organic substance, is especially vunerable. Acids in the wood pulp make paper unstable in light and air causing it to discolour and become brittle. We therefore only use acid-free mounts, barrier boards and tapes. We also supply a range of glazing options, including museum, U.V. filtering and acrylic, that help to minimise the harmful effects of light. Moisture from the air can get trapped between the glass and picture causing damage. To allow for this an air space is created with either a window mount or a box frame. |

The artwork is set back in the frame, away from the glass using a spacer. This is ideal for textured work and to show deckle-edge. We have a good selection of simple, deep profiles suitable for box-frames. |
| Window mounts are available in a huge range of shades including classic white and ivory to compliment your artwork. All the boards we use are acid-free or museum grade as standard. | |
